The smart search within Gnomen pulls through specific results from the system depending on what you enter in on that search bar. This makes your search results more accurate but it can be a bit tricky for some users. Here are some common mistakes people make when searching for properties.

The smart search saves recently made searches onto your system, making it easier to find properties or people that were just opened.

Properties that are archived cannot be seen on the smart search unless the "include archived" button is selected.

This helps further filter your searches so that you don't have to scroll through a bunch of results in order to find the specific one you wish for. Now the archived property will appeared on the search bar, also keep in mind that applicants can also be archived.

Make sure when you're searching for properties, tenants, applicants/buyers and Landlords/vendors that you select the correct toggle for that person or property.

You can toggle between let and sale properties/people to make searching for properties more efficient and seamless.

Occasionally some do not space the numbers between the flat and apartments which will give you no results. The smart search will only show you properties and people that match the specific characters you enter.

In this scenario there was no space between flat and the number.

Occasionally your smart search needs to be re-indexed, especially if you have recently migrated data from another system or if you aren't able to find a specific record which you have previously added.

Go to the control panel > reindex smart search, then press okay afterwards.

Depending on the amount of data on your account, it might take a while but wait until you see the message "indexing complete". After it is complete logout, then log back in, your search should show results.

If the search bar isn't showing results after reindexing you will need to clear your browser cache. Click on the top right hand side of the browser screen and click on settings.

Type in the word "cache" at the search bar at the top > then click on "clear browsing data".

Make sure the time range is set to "all time" and that the "cached images and files" are selected > then press "clear data". Wait until this window closes by itself and then logout of gnomen. Log back in and you should be able to see your search results.
