I hope you’ve had a great week!

Here’s the roundup of our 55th sprint on our new software platform.

Staff roles and permissions

Different estate agencies have different ways of operating and restricting their user permission levels. The challenge here was to create an easy way to manage user permissions based on job role. Moving away from traditional on/off style permission settings, we’re adopting a cascading permissions model. In simple terms, this means it’s a lot clearer to see at-a-glance what your users can and cannot access, all the way from branch to user level. This week, we’ve worked on implementing these permissions on the properties module and filters.

A diary for estate agents

The debate here was whether to use an existing diary framework or to build a new diary from the ground up. The first option would be faster and easier to roll out, however, it presented limitations. Given the nature of estate agent appointments for example a valuation which requires property information, we’ve opted to build our own from scratch. This means creating a diary that’s geared specifically for agents' needs, showing key information that enables you to make quick decisions. This week we’ve worked on building the front-end interface.

As always, we will be keeping you posted on our developments. Have a lovely weekend!
