Creating your Google Map account

We will require you to sign up for a Google Map Platform and create an API that will allow you to utilise the map functionality on your website.

Google Map platform offers a recurring $200 monthly credit, however you will need to ensure that you upgrade to a paid account to avoid any disruptions to your Google Maps Platform such as below:

Please note, that for most of our users, the $200 monthly credit is enough to support their needs. So this means you won’t need to pay unless you exceed the $200 credit. Google asks for your credit card or billing account to cover any amount you spend over the $200 monthly free credit.

To set the Google API, please follow this steps below:

  1. Login/create your Google account.

  2. Once logged in, go to https://console.cloud.google.com/google/maps-apis/overview

  3. Select “Maps Javascript API”

4. Enable the API

5. Select Credentials on the left side panel

6. Select “Credentials in APIs & Services”

7. Create Credentials and select API key

8. Please copy the API key and send this via to help@gnomen.co.uk

Enable the billing

  1. Activate the billing

2. Read and fill out the form and start your free trial.

Important!

It's strongly advisable to cap your spending via Google's billing console.

You can set quotas or limits on your daily requests to ensure sudden increased usage doesn't exceed your budget or cause an unexpected bill. To learn how to set daily limits, see Google Maps Platform Billing.
